Game: God of War III
Platform: PlayStation 3
Genre: Action/Adventure
Campaign Grade: 10/10
Multiplayer Grade: N/A
Overall Grade: 97/100
Comments:
Very straightforward. Finish the quest and achieve your vengeance on the Olympians for Zeus's actions in God of War II. All of this occurs on massively complex locations (i.e. battling a leviathan while climbing Gaia as she climbs Mount Olympus). This is a real man's game. Lots of blood, lots of gore, nudity, and the developers held true to their word and kept the sex mini-game. This game WILL be a contender for GOTY. Of that, there is no doubt. _________________

Might be late for this but Rock Band v. Guitar Hero III (Legends Of Rock)
Both games were released in 2007, and it's still a battle between fans of both series which one is best. I just recently purchased Rock Band for PS3 and I have Guitar Hero III for the Wii, so I can't really compare graphics, but I can compare everything else.
Round 1: Soundtrack
GH3 - Said by many to be the best Guitar Hero to date, and I can't really disagree. This soundtrack kicks so much ass it's unbelievable. 73 songs which includes 3 guitar battles, to this point the largest Guitar Hero game to date. Each level is excellent in the single player career, each level contained at least two awesome songs. And by the time you got to the last couple levels, every song rocked. The bonus songs are pretty good as well, as expected some of them suck...Really bad, but a few are killer including the one, the only, "Through The Fire And Flames." The only downfall for the set list is there are 18 covers...
RB - Only 58 songs were on Rock Band, bad start already. And the first two levels are absolutely dreadful to play through, it took me everything in my power to play through it and not say "f*** it, I'm using cheat codes." Fortunately, after all the pain and suffering you slowly start to get rewarded starting with "Detroit Rock City." But the last three levels is a power punch of awesome songs from all decades. But the last level, three of the five songs are covers, including the last two songs...Ouch. Afterwords you can play bonus songs. All but one really, really suck, and theres 13 of them. The only one worth a damn is "Timmy And The Lords Of The Underworld" and it's from South Park.
Winner - Guitar Hero III
Round 2: Downloadable Content
GH3 - Surprisingly, there's not a lot of downloadable content for this game. Nearly 60 songs, which is a lot, but once you consider the fact that there is three songs per pack over the course of a year, it's not a lot. But the DLC is pretty kick ass with packs such as Foo Fighters, Classic Rock, Dropkick Murphy's, Def Leppard, Muse, Motorhead, Coldplay, Dragonforce, and the whole Death Magnetic album by Metallica.
RB - Every week for years Rock Band has added songs and albums to its extensive library. And it's massive, if you can't find something you like, what the hell is wrong with you? Also to make it fair for people with systems such as the Wii and PS2, which (at the time) couldn't do DLC, because they are light years behind on technology, you can purchase Track packs in discs which includes at least 20 songs. As of now they have released 2 "regular" track packs, AC/DC live, Classic Rock, Country, and Metal. Genius. And for $3, you can buy a "song export key," which allows you to take games off of your Rock Band disc, and you can play them in and future Rock Band game. Same goes for DLC, all songs can be played on any game, you just don't need a song export key.
winner - Rock Band
Round 3 - Characters
GH3 - Most the characters are from past Guitar Hero games, and there seems to be a character that fits someone's style. But for the first time, you can play as real rock legends like Slash, Tom Morello, and the Devil. There is no real character customization, again a slight downfall.
RB - In Rock Band, you can't play any legends, which is disappointing really. But you have character customization. But it seems like a pointless feature, you just want to play music, we don't care how much of a douche your character looks like playing guitar, besides, you're not even looking at what your character is doing. But just for the fact it has that feature...It wins.
winner - Rock Band
Round 4 - (Offline) Multiplayer
GH3 - Well you know this is going to lose, because mainly, you can only play guitar, base, and on occasion lead guitar. Which means, two-player. But you can do cool battles, and trade offs between parts, or just play.
RB - This will win, because four player multiplayer on all instruments = win. But, all you can do is just...Play, which gets boring.
winner - Guitar Hero III
Overall winner - Guitar Hero III
Why? Well, soundtrack is everything, if you don't have a good soundtrack, you don't have a good game. Plain simple. Although Rock Band has excellent DLC, and smart ways of making it available for everyone, it still stands no match. And again, although Rock Band provides character customization, Guitar Hero still stands strong with fun characters and legends. And even though in Rock Band you can play as a full band, being in ridiculous two player guitar battles is just too much fun that Rock Band is missing out on. |

Game: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Online Multiplayer
Platform: PS3
Grade: B+
By far better than MW2, but there's some flaws. For one, is it just me, or does the game seem like Vietnam? So many M14s, M16s, and M60s! And all kick supreme ass. Never knew the M60 was so accurate at long range! Some of the SMGs seem a bit too powerful and have way way too much range (pp2000, I'm looking at you). But otherwise it's very fun. The maps are interesting and well laid out to limit camping, but create good firing lanes for snipers. Some maps are annoying (Arica Harbor Rush...).
Also, AT Mines own EVERYONE! It's sooooooo satisfying watching an M3A3 Bradley roll over 3 of the things and kill a full 4 man squad! Plus the tankers are so stupid, they'll roll over the same spot again, and again, and again! Easy points! _________________ "I love rumors!
