Changes Comming To The Huluva Good! Series NGOL has been very dissapointed with the racing in the Heluva Good! Series, the two tests the series had showed uncompetitive racing, and many skeptics point to the car for lackluster racing. As for now, testing for the series is on hold while the series is restructured. Sadly the Heluva Good! company is expected to pull it's sponsorship in the up comming week. Look for major changes in the series through October. Look for car, track, and schedule changes up coming, although a rough out line of the schedule has been planned and expected to release later today or tomorrow, look for a new car in roughly the same period.

And On a side note, I totally forgot about the Phoenix video for the Grand-am, I'll try and do that today, and then get some of the videos converted for iPod use probably Saturday during the race.

Now, you might be asking yourself...Why does this schedule look so much like the 1985 Winston Cup Schedule? I'll tell you why, introducing the NEW Heluva Good! car!

I know lotsa photos Razz

I will get templates up soon, CUSTOMS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. If you want to be lame, the car set is from 1990, pick a car I guess.

We'll have a test race possibly next week, sign-ups will determine that.

And don't tell me what to add/take away from my schedule, I want to keep it retro, and yes Road America is a retro track (Tim Flock won the only race there in '56). I kept the race tracks to a pre-millennium setting.

But other than that I'm willing to take suggestions. Rules will stay the same.

With dissapointing sign-ups for the IROC series, the series will close if more sign-ups don't happen. "So far four or five people have signed up, we would prefer to have at minimum ten drivers, right now, it doesn't look like that will happen. But we'll keep sign-ups open for a while and see what happens," said Murphy, NGOL (HD) owner/manager.

Small note, Grand-am race to be run most likely on Saturday, probably during the Nationwide race.

Testing news:
Testing will take another week break (school project). But first week in November, both the Nationwide Series and Heluva Good! Series will be testing at, none other than Talladega.

Due to numerous AI problems, Portland has been removed from the Nationwide Series schedule, and has been replaced with Martinsville Speedway. The chicane is the leading cause as cars in close groups run off the track and crash into other cars.

Special Events races for HG! Series announced NGOL has announced two special event race for the Heluva Good! Series at Darlington and Richmond. "Retro" schemes are encouraged for the first Darlington race and "rock n' roll" cars are recommended for Richmond. "we hope to see a lot of really cool paint jobs for these two races, should be some fun races."

New rule.

If anyone should be caught using a "double name" you will be BANNED from the league until January 1, 2011 should there be another offline league then. I do not take too kindly to this, and NASCAR Grafx does not take to kindly to this, besides it's against the rules and will get you a pretty hefty suspension from the site.

I hope I never have to do this, but I trust you guys not to break this.

No More Testing After Talladega It has been officially announced there will be no more testing after Talladega so teams can prepare for the Mobil 1 Challenge at Hockenheim a month from then.

NGOL Sprint Cup Series To Be Revived Yes, the original NGOL Sprint Cup Series to be revived. With an overwhelming interest in the Grand-am Series and the upcoming season 3, it would only be right to finally finish season 1. Races will resume where I can fit them in after Talladega race weekend. This will give me time to catch up on points. Only the original drivers will compete, and no new sign ups will be accepted. I hope to finish season 1 the right way sometime in December. Remember this takes back seat to school, family, friends, and my other leagues. Number changes (not conflicting with other drivers) are allowed, customs are allowed, and alternate schemes are allowed. Any car I have made can be used as well, and I will not take requests. As always, I can help convert cars should you need the help, send them too me as full jpegs. You can send me cars at any time during this season.

I will also add a race to replace the canceled Rouen race. Accepting suggestions in the general discussion thread, anywhere, anyplace, any track. Races and standings will be added in the archive section as this section is full. I may extend the schedule just a couple races.

Very Happy

Quikie note

This weekends Grand-am race my not happen Saturday, or Sunday, but possibly Monday. Saturday is a home game at my high school, playoff game, and Sunday is Talla(frickin)dega! Wouldn't miss that for the world. I will do my best to do it some time Saturday, if not Saturday, Sunday is a possibility, Monday possibly (video project, Physics test Tues.), and at the VERY latest Tuesday. I hate to delay this stuff, but life happens, lol.

NGOL Nationwide Series Rights "Sold" To Phinphan Effective immediately, the Nationwide Series will be run by Phinphan88, due to some scheduling problems for me. As of now rules, teams, and the schedule looks to stay the same although there may be some scheduling adjustments. For 2010 the Nationwide Series COT, as of now, is a go. NGOL (HD)'s owner says they will keep open the opportunity of another series to replace the Nationwide Series, although as of now replacement seems unlikely. The Heluva Good! Series will not be effected by this change.

Another Quickie

Grand-am race will be run tomorrow, going to cheer on my football team some more in the playoffs.

And the Sprint Cup series is still a go, I've just been very busy lately. I need to finish points before we continue racing. At this point it looks like everything will be starting more mid November, with the hopes of ending before Christmas.

No Second Series Plan, HG! Series May Scale Back A Few Races Today it was announced that there will be no replacement series for the now nr2003 Nationwide Series. "Things are getting busy with school and everything, and if there were a second series, I feel like both would suffer through the year." Which brings up the fact, the Heluva Good! Series may cut back on as many as two to three races. No further details have been released.

Quickie note ~

The Grand-am race may be run today. I apologize for no video last week and no updated points for the past two. I want to get all this done this upcoming week, right now points are a must, and if I don't get points done, I'll have to possibly delay next week's race.

Haven't updated in a while, but on a quick first note, I've been really busy, and I haven't done videos, replays or anything, I know. I've tried to keep up, but you all know, school/family/friends first. For videos I think I'm going to just post major occurrences in the race now, and any good screenshots I can find, I'll post. The past few weeks I haven't posted anything, it was just cautions for overheated engines, hell Montreal didn't even have a caution, lol. For points, I'm trying like hell too, I usually do them in school seminar as I don't have much homework in there...Well...The past two weeks have been hell, I've been trying to keep above the 3.0 line for a GPA, I think I did, so hopefully it was hard work paid off.

Second note - The Hockenheim race has been pushed back one week so the Grand-Am series can finish. Currently the schedule is a go, all dates are set in place, an official schedule will be posted soon! Here's what to expect:

~ Race names will be the same race name as the 2009 race schedule, old race tracks will use the last name(s) the were given.

~ Race length will simply be determined by this:

actual.......My length
600..........125
500..........100
400..........75
300..........50

300 miler includes Phoenix, Infineon, and Watkins Glen.

And, I guess if you haven't really noticed by now, the IROC league is a total bust. Three people, including myself, signed up. Certainly not near enough for a full year league.

Hey guys, forgot to mention in the last note that if you want to run a custom car, I NEED to get it soon as possible if you would like to run the Hockenheim race. If you do not have a custom you will either be using the in game scheme or you will not run at all. This is a two weeks notice. Your 3rd team is eligible to run since it is an exhibition race. You can PM your cars to me in either jpeg, tga, pdn, psd, and tex.

I am hoping to have an update in Grand-Am points, possibly by either Tuesday or Thursday.
