The worlds greatest NASCAR PC Sim racing site, IMO. You can download NASCAR Heat (for free) right here and get the latest and greatest mods for it. Read their forums to find out how to download it.

They just released a Mod Squad Community Carset featuring car sets from all the community members and in the up coming weeks there is Legends Heat that will be released (all legends in COT's)

DOWNLOADING NASCAR HEAT (+COT PLATINUM G2)

Visit this website for all the downloads needed!

Let's begin!

In the downloads section (if you follow the link you're already there) NASCAR HEAT Essentials->NASCAR HEAT Essentials.

Download it!

This download is what is needed to run NASCAR Heat and all the mods and all the tracks. This download will not include any tracks or cars, please take note of that. The files will be downloaded to your NASCAR Heat files and will make a new folder, something along the lines of COT Platinum G2. To access the file(s) click Start->run and enter that directory, some files will show up but we're not done.

Now go back to the Mod Squad website, downloads->COT Platinum G2->COT Platinum G2 Base Files.

Download that.

make sure it installs to C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat. Then you're done with that step.

Now go to downloads->COT Platinum G2 ADDONS. Now you have options you can download either the Nationwide carset or the Sprint Cup car set, take your pick. The files are set automatically to download to your brand new COT Platinum G2 folder. The files will be located inside a folder called carsets, which will create a folder inside that called whatever you downloaded.

TWO MORE STEPS TO GO (They're the sasiest ones too!)

Back to the site downloads->NASCAR Heat Utilities->Mod Launcher 2v.1.6

Download that.

This will help you easily swap cars, drivers, and files. So you can go from truck to Arca, or Nationwide to Sprint or whatever. Now this part is important! It needs to install to this directory: C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\CotPlatinumG2\Carsets. If it is not installed there it will not work!

The final piece of the puzzle!

downloads->COT Platinum Multi Mod TRACKS

You need to install a track for everything to work (just install everything, lol). It will instal to here: C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive\NASCAR Heat\Run. All tracks will be downloaded there.

Now go to mod launcher 2 in you carsets folder inside you COT Platinum G2 folder.

Go to utilities->carsets->carset swapper. Select your mod, then hit swap. It will take you back to the main screen then hit Launch Selected mod.

w00t! It should all work like a charm!

I click to select the mod, then carset swapper. I click it, nothing happens

Yeah, the car set pop up screen will go away after you select swap, after that it will take you back to the "main" mod launcher you started with then you hit launch selected mod.

After that in your tool bar close the mod launcher, and a screen should pop up saying "NASCAR Heat is not for Windows 2000. Continue?" say yes, the game should start.

Then pinch yourself, 59 cars to choose (Sprint Cup '09) from with around 200 playable tracks from the net for free (totally legal too! Razz

)
